Dear ESPNIC colleagues,
We are undertaking a very important project to map the organisation and characteristics of paediatric critical care facilities in Europe.
Through this project, we seek to understand very simple questions such as:
- How many PICUs are there in Europe?
- How many beds do these PICUs have?
- What services (including extracorporeal support, ECMO and transplantation) are offered?
By answering these simple questions, the ESPNIC community will have greater knowledge of the full extent of our network. We will also have greater preparedness and understanding of resources in the event of emergency situations, such as for tackling the next global pandemic.
The list of hospitals who have already responded to our project is below, sorted by country and city.

At this time, we are not looking for responses from neonatal intensive care units, only paediatric intensive care units.
