The Presidents’ Welcome Message

Dear colleagues, dear friends,

We at ESPNIC, professionals from NICU and PICU care, believe that we can only learn with and from each other, and from the world of adult intensive care medicine. Whether you work in a NICU or in a PICU, or in an adult ICU caring for children, as a physician, nurse, or allied healthcare professional, we welcome your contribution and dedication.

The European Society for Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care (ESPNIC) is the world’s premier paediatric and neonatal critical care medicine society. Our Society provides a unique platform. ESPNIC is one of the oldest and largest pediatric scientific societies in Europe and the only one exclusively dedicated to critical care, that is to the sickest children affected by complex disorders needing vital support, complex techniques, and multi-disciplinary emergency management.

ESPNIC promotes the delivery of the highest quality of care to critically ill children throughout Europe. Our core values are truly multidisciplinary and multi-professional, focusing on intensive care medicine for the most critically ill patients and their families that we are daily taking care of in the neonatal (NICU) and the paediatric intensive care unit (PICU).

This is our unique strength and our peculiarity: we believe that all these different contributions are important when it comes to critical care. With ESPNIC, you will find a way to exchange and learn, research grants for your projects, network opportunities and opportunities for communicating with ESPNIC members across the globe. ESPNIC aims is to develop and disseminate PICU and NICU clinical expertise, research competence and networking. This can only be achieved with input from professionals like you.
